Pupil Premium

At Oakwood, we have high aspirations for all the children in our school community and we believe that all children should be given the opportunity to reach their full potential.

The DfE has allocated additional funding to schools in England to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils and close the gap between them and their peers: this is known as Pupil Premium.  The amount of funding received is dependent on the number of children who are eligible and have claimed for free school meals at any time in the last six years (this categorisation changed in 2012).

The Pupil Premium funding that our school receives is generated directly by the number of children eligible and registering for free school meals. To check if you are eligible, and for details on how to apply, please visit: www.hertsdirect.org/freeschoolmeals

All schools are required to report on the amount of funding received and how this is being used.  Please see the document below which outlines how we intend to spend the small amount of Pupil Premium received in the current academic year and how it was spent last year.
