Google Classroom Remote Learning - Information For Parents
Welcome to our Home Learning Zone
At Oakwood, remote learning through Google Classroom started in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic. It enabled us to teach live lessons, record lessons, meet up as a class or cohort and provide the children with resources they needed to continue teaching and learning through our curriculum whilst school was not open to most pupils. Since then, Google Classroom has become a successful part of our everyday provision within school and supports parents and children with weekend home learning.
In many cases from Year 1 upwards, weekend home learning is set on Google Classroom. There are often resources attached and web links to support the activity. In KS2, Google Classroom is sometimes used in lessons within school too, teaching the children how to upload work, use Google Docs and Slides amongst other things.
It is also a useful place for teachers to put reference resources for parents to access. For example, common exception words, phonics, maths vocabulary etc.
Please make sure your child knows their login and contact the class teacher if there are any problems with this.
Remember: safety first! Follow our Acceptable Use Agreement and support your child with all online safety. Follow this link for further information about keeping safe online.
Home learning is available in paper format if you let the class teacher know you'd prefer it this way.
