Year 5 Maths Challenge
Wed 28 Feb 2024On Monday, 4 young mathematicians, Cameron, Maxim, Felicity and Thomas, took part in the county Maths Challenge alongside 46 other Hertfordshire schools. The children worked in pairs, relentlessly working through all the challenges, with unparalleled enthusiasm and a can-do attitude - it was a joy to see them shine and show off their skills. We are delighted to let you know that Team Oakwood finished with over 120 points and were placed joint winners with another school.
Well done to you all and thank you to Mrs Raghavan who accompanied and supported the children.

Reading for mental wellbeing

Safer Internet Day 2024
Mon 05 Feb 2024Oakwood are delighted to join the global campaign, Safer Internet Day 2024, this week. Using the internet safely and positively is a key message that we promote at school, and this is a great opportunity for us to re-emphasise the online safety messages we deliver throughout the year.
This year the campaign is focusing on change online, including:
* Young people's perspective on new & emerging technology
* Using the internet to make change for the better
* The changes young people want to see online
* The things that can influence & change the way young people think, feel & act online & offline
We would be delighted if you could join us in celebrating the day by talking at home about internet use. To support this, the UK Safer Internet Centre have created some activities and information to use at home, and are available at:
