Welcome from the Headteacher

Welcome to Oakwood!

On behalf of the Pupils, Staff and Governors, I would like to welcome you to our vibrant school.   We are all very proud of our school and enjoy working hard to do the best for our children. 

We are an aspirational school with high standards of behaviour and achievement. Staff go "the extra mile" to guide and encourage our children to do their best within a caring and supportive environment.  We aim to create opportunities for the children to develop their independence and confidence whilst seeking to nurture their individual talents and qualities.

At Oakwood, learning is very important to us!  We want our children to enjoy learning and show interest and curiosity during lessons and school activities as well as in the wider world.

The staff and I value the strong partnership that exists between parents and the school.  We believe that by working together we can achieve higher standards of learning and the children will encounter the best possible education.  Ofsted (April 2014) judged Oakwood to be outstanding and said "Parents are highly positive about all aspects of their children's education".
