PE and Sports Premium

At Oakwood, we recognise the value of sports and physical activity in ensuring that children lead active, healthy and happy lives.  We believe that physical activity not only improves health, reduces stress and improves concentration but also promotes good physical growth and development.  PE and Sports activities also provide our children with opportunities to develop important qualities of self-control, determination, communication, team work and commitment, all essential for our children to make positive contributions to our community.

The Government has allocated additional funding to schools in England to improve the quality of sport and PE activities provided for all children: this is called PE and Sports Premium.  This funding is ring-fenced and can only be spent on sport and PE provision in schools, but schools have the autonomy to choose the best way of using the money.
