    Progression of Writing at Oakwood:

    The whole school used the book 'and tango makes three' by Justin Richardson and Peter Parnell, to inspire their writing.  The book is based on the true story of Roy and Silo, two male penguins who wanted a baby, and shows us that to create a family all you need is love.

  • Annual District Athletics Competition

    Several Oakwood pupils from years 3-6 took part in the annual district athletics competition on Tuesday and Thursday at Westminster Lodge track. They all showed great determination and supported each other enthusiastically. We finished second overall in the boys event and second in both the relay races, narrowly missing out on the trophies. Well done all! 

  • Bikeability

    Year 6 began their week of Bikeability training yesterday.  Learning vital skills to ride safely on the road, the children always thoroughly enjoy this life skill practical and theory experience.

  • Wildflowers, Wildlife & Nature

    We are delighted to start seeing so many wildflowers growing around the school, which we know to be so beneficial to our pollinators and wildlife.  We have left areas of 'no mow', allowed 'weeds' to grow and have planted wildflower seeds and plants around the whole school.

  • Jubilee Classwork

    Our Year 3 & 4 pupils had a wonderful time learning all about Queen Elizabeth II and The Commonwealth.  They have created some outstanding work which the whole school have thoroughly enjoyed reading.
