• UKS2 Planetarium Workshop

  In conjunction with our KS2 topic, Space, today the UKS2 children had an amazing afternoon actually going to into space!

   

  Our sports hall was transformed into a space dome, and inside it the children were immersed in the universe, with our milky way, planets and stars projected above and around them. Lights, darkness, sounds and a very knowledgeable instructor ensured that everyone had a truly out-of-this-world experience!

  It was wonderful to see our Oakwood pupils back at school after a much deserved half term break.

  We started our new half term with a thoroughly enjoyable singing assembly, which left us all uplifted and energised!

• Beaumont School introduce us to CANSAT!

  We were extremely fortunate this week to welcome 5 Beaumont Sixth Form students to hold a very special assembly for us.

  They told us all about their 'CANSAT' project in which they will be launching a satellite into space in a tin can!  The children and teachers were all captivated and asked some really challenging and interesting questions to the students.

  They have promised to come back and tell us how it went.
